USCA, which takes its name from the “Us” philosophy of the philosopher Anaksagoras from Klozomenai, established its first vineyards in Urla Kocadağ in 2003 and its new vineyards and production facility in Urla Kuşçular Village in 2012. USCA Izmir is 40 kilometers from the center and 50 kilometers from the airport. With a certificate in organic agriculture, USCA grows foreign grape varities such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Syrah as well as local varities like Bornova Muscat and ancient Foça Black, which has been cultivated on these lands for 2600 years and believed to be the ancestor of some international varities. USCA is a boutique manufacturer producing 30,000 liters of wine per year in a production facility where technology is blended with traditional methods. They use cold fermentation techniques, and they also use gravity for the flow of products.
