Çakır Winery, which takes its name from the Çakır Family (the founders), has opened its doors to visitors in 2020. They offer wines that take their quality from the age and soil structure of their vineyards. They have 21 years of viticulture experience and passion for wine in Kuşçular Village, Urla. Before the population exchange, viticulture used to be carried out on the territory where the winery was established and after the exchange, the vineyards were dismantled, and tobacco production began instead. With the prohibition of tobacco planting, the land remained empty and then Çakır Family bought the land and revitalized the land with their vineyards. Çakır Winery, who harvested their first production in 2018, has given the Latin name "Somnium", which means dream, to their first series of products. The Somnium series symbolizes how Çakır Family has always dreamed of having a boutique winery and includes red, rose, and white wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Bornova Muscat, and Chardonnay grapes. Çakır Winery grows each crop with caution, care, and love. Their wines are unique because of their quality, balance, and richness of aroma. Çakır Winery is located in the vineyards with its own architecture, stone building, production facility, cellar, restaurant, and rooms for accomodation. The restaurant is located in the vineyards. The restaurant serves dishes inspired by the Aegean/Italian cuisine: Pizzas cooked in the stone oven and a menu that varies based on the season. They hold wine tastings throughout the year. Cellar tours and tastings are organized according to demand.
